Your Ultimate Satisfaction is Our Top Priority

Premier Home Appliances Inspection in San Diego, CA

What is an appliance inspection?

A home appliances inspection includes an appliance examination with the goal to identify those that are not functioning properly. The qualified inspectors will look for unsafe conditions in the household appliances and check if anything can be damaged by the inspected appliance when it operates.

What is a RecallChek service?

RecallChek service is a part of a home appliances inspection and its goal is to verify if there are any outstanding appliance recalls in your household. Here at The Inspectors Company, together with your home inspection, you can order a RecallChek service.

While most manufacturer’s appliance recalls are public record and available online, searching for the necessary information needed for every single appliance in your home can be time-consuming and may even raise more questions.

As a RecallChek Authorized Dealer, we guarantee accurate and diligent service to you and your home. Our technicians will note the make, model, and serial numbers of the accessible appliances installed within your home including the stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, furnace, air conditioner, and water heater.

How does RecallChek for appliances work?

After 48 hours of submitting your home report, RecallChek will verify the information against their database to see if there are any outstanding appliance recalls. If a recall has been issued, the report will contain that information and instructions to remedy the situation or how to access free appliance repair.

The manufacturer will often issue a voucher ranging anywhere from $250 to $900 towards a new appliance. The RecallChek service is for life. Every new appliance you purchase can be added to your account and each month you will receive a report with updated and verified information on all manufacturer’s appliance recalls.

Are appliances checked during a home inspection?

Yes, they are. However, not all appliances will be checked during a home inspection. Only the appliances that are permanently installed will require an equal amount of attention as the rest of the property.

According to ASHI Standards of Practice, the inspector must inspect “ installed ovens, ranges, surface cooking appliances, microwave ovens, dishwashing machines, and food waste grinders by using normal operating controls to activate the primary function.”

The Inspectors Company fully complies with these standards and will make sure that no appliance is overlooked and no defect is left undetected. Our kitchen appliance inspection will leave you nothing to desire for.

On the other hand, the appliances that are not permanently built in do not need to be inspected. These include:

  • refrigerators
  • washers
  • dryers
  • countertop microwaves, etc.

Do home inspectors check washing machines?

When it comes to inspecting washing machines, there is no particular rule saying that the inspector should examine them. However, every professional has the right to inspect anything they deem necessary and create a customized appliance inspection checklist.

According to NACHI standards, the inspector is obliged to inspect the plumbing (faucets and fixtures), but they are not under any obligation to examine washing machines. The same applies to their connections.

Finally, every inspector must comply with high safety standards, so if they estimate that a washing machine is too old or it seems to be in bad condition, they won’t run it. However, this needs to be entered into the report.

Who pays for repairs after a home inspection?

Once the inspection is completed and the defects are discovered, the buyer has two choices – to walk away from the home sale or go through with it. However, before the final decision is made, the seller and the buyer must agree on who will be responsible for the necessary repairs.

Sellers are not required to pay for any repair work if they don’t want to. However, every buyer has the right to negotiate and use the inspection report as leverage when negotiating a lower price on a home. Ultimately, it all goes down to the buyer’s decision whether they want to buy the house and invest in all the necessary fixes, or give up and search for a better offer.

We are on your side

If you’re currently thinking about investing in a new property, give us a call. Why do I need it?

Substandard appliances can not only harm the user, but also increase energy consumption, and hurt the environment. What’s more, a regular appliance inspection is crucial for proper appliance maintenance necessary to expand their lifespan.

So, if you want to make sure that your appliances are in good condition and safe to use, make sure to hire the most reliable household appliances inspection in San Diego and the nearby area. Our certified home appliance inspectors will ensure that your home doesn’t lose value and that it is fully functional.

Who can benefit from a household appliances inspection in San Diego?

Having your household appliances is important, regardless of whether you are a buyer, seller or a homeowner who wants to ensure the safety of their family.

For instance, if you want to buy a new home in the San Diego area, you should hire an expert who will discover any hidden flaws and prevent you from making a bad investment. On the other hand, the seller also has an interest in conducting household appliances inspection. This can help them determine the price, as well as give them time to make any smaller repairs and boost their property’s value.

Lastly, even if you have no intention of selling your property, the Inspectors Company can help you detect any potential safety hazards and prevent further harm to your property. It’s better to invest a small amount of money into this than to end up paying hundreds of dollars to repair the extensive damage that a malfunctioning appliance has caused.

Can your house fail a home appliances inspection?

Household appliances inspection is not about passing or failing, but about giving a detailed description of the current state of a property and its appliances. Even if the inspector discovers some major issues, the seller is not under any obligation to fix them before putting their property on the market.

However, this doesn’t mean that you should just ignore the findings. Our certified inspectors have your best interests at heart, and won’t put any irrelevant information in the report. So, you can rest assured that everything we bring to your attention is definitely worth dealing with. The faster you act, the less risk your property will be exposed to.

What other inspections may your house need?
